The mask falls, no more being stuck for a month on a level, you have the strong way: CHEAT!

I provide explanations on how it works, but I do not encourage you to do it because :

  • You will lose the taste for playing
  • You will be seen by everyone as a cheater (and your score, no one will take it into account…)
  • I’m not sure it’s really clean (gulp!)
  • Cheating is EVIL!

Well, here are the prerequisites:

  • A computer (for my example, I use a PC)
  • The Cheat Engine software: available here
  • A Facebook account with Candy Crush Saga (also works on the Soda version)
  • Time to waste…

Let’s go!

Step 1:

I open the Candy Crush game on Facebook, and I choose an accessible level, then I realize that I only have 20 moves possible…
ccs1

Step 2:

I open Cheat Engine then click on the little computer on the button below « File », which opens a window with a list of currently open processes. I select FLASH (the one at the bottom), then I click on Open.
ccs2

Step 3:

I fill in the « Value » field with the number of moves I currently have on Candy Crush, so: 20. Then I click on First Scan.
ccs3

Step 4:

I will skip the details of how and why I have so many results on the left of the list, but there are several values that do not all interest us… So we will refine our approach.
ccs4

Step 5:

I go back to Candy Crush (which I of course left open, right?) and I make a move in the game so that I have 19 moves left.
ccs5

Step 6:

I return to Cheat Engine, then I change the value of 20 that I indicated in step 3, to 19 which is the number of moves I have left now. Then I click this time on the Next Scan button. My list of values on the left decreases, we’re almost there!
ccs6

Step 7:

I repeat step 5, I make another move in the game. I have only 18 left!
ccs7

Step 8:

I now repeat step 6, I set the value to 18 and click on Next Scan. I have only 2 results left (sometimes there may be only 1 or a little more than 2). I double-click on the values that remain on the left, and they are placed in my list at the bottom.
ccs8

Step 9:

I double-click this time on the number 18 of one of my values in the bottom list, and a window opens with the value of 18 inside. I change this value to 100 (for example), then I click on OK. I do the same with the second value in my list (if you have more than 2 lines, either repeat steps 5 and 6, or change the values of each line).
ccs9

Step 10:

The list has been updated, but on Candy Crush you still do not have the 100 moves.
ccs10

Final step:

You need to make one more move so that the total number of moves updates as well.
ccs11

And there you go! You are a cheater!

This example serves to prove to you that you should not rely on anyone’s astronomical score, that in terms of the security of applications like Flash for example in this example, is sometimes still far from being flawless…
Good luck, and play fair!
